Penguins have two days deticated to them every year: January 20th is Penguin Awerness Day and April 25th is World Penguin Day. Their feather are very important, and yes, like all other birds, penguins have feathers. Penguin feathers are short, overlapping and densely packed. The outer part of the feather is waterproof while the inner down section traps an insulating layer of air, keeping the penguin warm in the sometimes freezing water. although their feathers are important they have an anual event called a "Catastrophic Moult" where they spend two or three weeks on land while they lose and replace all their feathers. They also use the pigment on their feathers, white and black, is used for camouflage, the white is on the front inroder to match the light coming from the sun when swiming, and the black to match with the dark sea.
